Decision:

The Town Clerk summarised the report including the survey results and explained that three financial options were available, which included:
- Option 1 - add the cost to the budget and increase the precept to cover the amount
- Option 2 - amend the budget to move funds from Special Projects to cover the cost
- Option 3 - to utilise an underspend in the current year, earmark the cost and utilise next year without a impact on the precept.

An idea was suggested regarding liaising with other towns in relation to this scheme and co-ordinating action to Powys CC. Members agreed that Option 3 above would be the best solution to enable the trial to take place.

RESOLVED
To approve the proposal as set out in the paper for Pay What You Can Parking Trial for 26 weeks between April and October 2026;
To earmark £6000 from 210/4000 in the current financial year to a new account code for the scheme;
To remit the scheme to the Events & Planning Committee; and
To request a post-trial evaluation prior to the continuation of the scheme.
