Decision:

A discussion took place between Members who celebrated the achievements of Adele Nicoll and as a fantastic role model for the people of Welshpool. The Town Clerk explained that the award requires two thirds present voting in favour to confer the honour and that the Council had spoken to Ms Nicoll and ascertained her availability for any future civic reception/service.

Members discussed various ideas of how to celebrate the achievement and the award, especially as it was the first time the award had been conferred since the 1970s by the then Borough of Welshpool.

RESOLVED
To confer the title of honorary freewoman of Welshpool on Ms Adele Nicoll as a person of distinction in recognition of her outstanding achievements in sport.
